I've seen a few XBOX 360s with this problem. It occurs mainly in the early models with the Samsung drive. If you just want to get it the drive open, press eject (you will see the drive tray trying to open) then with your pointer finger quickly push in and up on the right side of the drive tray. It takes a little practice to get the motion just right (it's almost like a flicking motion). If it doesn't work the first time, press eject and try again.
Of course the permanent fix is to replace the drive. Replacement drives are easy enough to find online, but it's not as easy as swapping drives out. You will have to transfer the drive's key to the new drive using a specific firmware flashing technique. If you haven't voided your warranty send it back to MS. They extended their warranty to 3 years. As of this writing there aren't any XBOX 360s that are more than 3 years old yet so you should be good.
