HI I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY NIKON E8800 DIGITAL CAMERA. MY SON
REPLACED THE FLASH CARD AND BENT/FLAT TWO PINS INSIDE CARD SLOT
CAMERA NOW WILL NOT POWER UP MAYBE DUE TO THE SAME PROBLEM.
ANYONE ANY IDEA IF I SHOULD TRY A HOME REPAIR OR LEAVE IT TO A PRO.
ALSO ANY IDEA HOW MUCH THIS MAY COST ME FOR REPAIR.
THANX.
Most likely the entire connector will need to be replaced. A local repair person may be able to repair this but it wont hold up as once the pins get bent they will just get weak and break off. this could also short out the terminals of the flash card(memory). You should contact an authorized Nikon repair shop or contact Nikon from the telephone number in the owners manual. Ask them if it is worth getting this camera repaired, or exchanged. Good Luck, and let us know how you make out with this camera.
