mp4 player help!!!

I was able to put 127 songs on my 4GB mp4 player then it kept saying "unsupported media type" and wouldn't allow me to put anymore songs on there but there was still tons of space available. I tried reformating it and that didnt help... Does anyone have any other suggestions?             PLZ HELP
