Recording phone conversations on iPod

I need to record the occasional phone conversation, and I'd like to do it using my iPod. Anybody know if it's possible and, if so, how it's done? What gadget do I need? I was hoping to buy a MicroMemo digital recorder for the other non-phone interviews I need to record. Will that work for phones?
