We have an LG DLP 42'' television which is just over two years old. About nine months ago we started having trouble getting it to start from standby. The red light goes off, the amber flashes and you can hear the television firing up but nothing happens and it goes back to red. Other times it comes straight on. We heard that there was an on going problem with Toshibas not recognising the signal from a sky box (which we have). We swapped sky boxes and it was cured! Now six months later it has started doing it again!! has anyone else had this problem? Do you know what causes it or how to fix it?
LG/Zenith's have had an on-going problem with the Lamps in their DLP sets intermittantly shutting down or failing to fire in the model year set you own.
I'm gonna say you've probably got a bad lamp.
