have above tv, works fine except there appears to be no blue. Blue convergence control in menu option shows nothing at all other than the white cross. Is it likely to be a board replacement or crt? is it worth attempting to get repaired?

Thats what you will have to decide once the set has gotten a good check over by a pro. There is alot of high voltage on the blue CRT. There is one check you can do if you are careful. Open the front speaker cover of the set where the CRT boarde are. Locate the blue tube and switch the middle board with the blue tube board and turn on the TV set. If the blue tube comes on, then you know you have a bad tube and if the tube is still avaialable, it will most likely be very expensive. If the blue tube does come on, this will tell you that you have a drive problem and if the set is not that old, may be worth repairing. Good Luck and let us know the outcome of this TV.
