Hello,
I have a Panasonic PT-44LCX65 44-inch HDTV
I turned my tv on and noticed a solid blue line vertically approximately 1/4 of a centermeter wide. when the the picture is black it jumps out at you, but when there is color it seems to fade into the color abit.
I have taken the lamp out and inspected it and it looks fine. i also reach and covered the (what i believe is the gun portion) and the line disappears behind my fingers.
has anybody heard of this? Is there something i can do to make it go away?
thank you in advance.
Dan
that is an indication that you have a micro display drive problem(bad light engine) or the main board will need to be swapped out. These boards have to be replace in todays modern TV sets as the manufacturers do not supply discreat components or even provide good complete circuit diagrams for these sets. Good luck and let us know what you find out about your set.
thank you and i will keep you updated

Hi, I have the same problem with my panasonic LCD, a vertical blue line in the middle of screen.
Can you let me know what has found out for your set and your suggestion about this kind of problem?
Look forward to hearing from you
Hello,
My TV was and as i said was a 44 inch rear projection lcd. and what Larry Dillon said was right and to replace the main board was going to cost as much as the TV cost. So i gave it away and invested the money in a 50 inch Visio Plasma at 1199.00. i also own a panasonic 32 lcd flat panel in my bedroom and it has a blue dot maybe 1 or 2 pixels large in the top left hand corner. I've owned the set for approx. 2 years and i only see it in the pitch black. long story short... they just don't make tv's like they use to.
if i can be of more help... let me know
Dan
