Recently I acquired a rear projection television dated 1987. Says "Colortyme". This is actually a rent to own company so I have no idea exactly who the manufacturer would be. The picture is not as clear as I think it should be. I am assuming a cleaning is in order. My question is, can this be done my me or am I going to have to have a tech from someplace?

Thats an old set! Most likely, the mirrors and the lens will need to be cleaned and the set will need a good adjustment. If your not sure of how to do these adjustment, stay safe and have a pro take a look at the TV set to make sure your not waisting you time. It is an old set like I said but without any more info, I would not even know where to start telling you how to disassemble the set and where the adjustments would be.
