i have a curtis home dvd player and it won`t play my rented dvd`s it`s displaying "babdisc" on the tv screen and front of player, it does`nt do this every time or dvd it seems like every 3 or 4 dvds what is it`s problem and how can i fix this?

It could be a sign that the player is about to fail permanently, but many rented discs have seen better days. When you look at the play side of the disc in question, does it look all scratched up and smudged?
