I have a similar problem with a WS-55809. It uses STK392-570 ICs. I have an Error 24 Vertical Deflection Failure. I have checked the power fuses and all of them are fine. When you turn the the TV on the power relay turns on then right back off and gives me error 24 when I check the codes. I was going to start by replacing the Convergence ICs but I wanted to see if anyone here had any ideas on this type of failure and any solutions thereof. Thanks in advance. God Bless.
I'm having a convergence issue. When I opened up my WT42315 and found the ICs (STK394-250) they were no longer pasted to the heat sink. The white paste was more/less melted down onto the board.
1.) what is the white stuff?
2.) do you think "repasting" them to the heat sink would fix my issue?
