Well, after searching the net for hours and hours, this site seems to be the best for answers.
Here's the deal. I just got a RCA model #P56820BL (I think it is a 56") rear projection TV.
Here's the history of the TV: The guy who gave this to me said the on/off button does not work. He said he had a repair guy come over and was informed that he needed a new board ($400) to fix it. I was told that the sound and pic works fine.
I've tried to find an owners manual online, but came up empty. I believe that the first place for me to start is an owners manual.
So, when I press the on/off button, I hear a click and a red light on the back of the TV goes on, in accordance with the clicking, but no picture or sound.
If I hear a click, doesn't that mean that there is a leaky capacitor somewhere? I only say that because I saw another post regarding the very same thing.
Any help with finding a manual or how to fix it (or if I have to take it in to get it repaired), would be very helpful.
