Toshiba 3566A TV Help

I was looking for some help in trying to fix a problem I have with a Toshiba 3566A TV.  The TV was manufactured in 93', and was a freebie from someone who just didnt want to put the effort into getting it fixed.  When I brought the TV home, 3 weeks ago, it worked perfectly, and I thought the person that gave it away to me was crazy.  Two days ago it started displaying the problem that the origional owner said it was having.  While watching the TV, the picture went out, along with everything else.  Kinda like someone had unplugged it from the outlet.  I took off the rear panel, and looked at the fuses, and of coarse any circuit board burns.  Everything checked out fine.  I unplugged it,and plugged it back in, and found out that whenever the unit is plugged back into an outlet, that there is a sound like the TV is being turned on, and then turned off again real quickly. It seems like it would have to be a very low cost repair, but I cannot find the owners manual or a service manual online.  Anyone ever experience this before?

This model does not ring any

This model does not ring any bells. Is this set from the US?  if it is then the model number is wrong.  It could be a CF-3566A and that is one heavy bugger.  I remember it is over 200 pounds!  That click when you plug in the TV set is completely a normal thing.  That is just your standby power supply charging up and energizing.  Your problem could be almost anything in the main power supply all the way up to the horizontal sweep circuit, or possibly the sweep power supply.  You really should invest in a service manual if you really want to repair this set.  Without knowing what voltages should be here or there is a crapshoot.  Also I hope your not experimenting around inside this TV set without first having some TV repair knowledge.  This set is almost 15 years old and has long served its purpose here on this great planet.  If you do repair this TV set you might just get a couple more years out of it but at what expense?  Well Good Luck and let us know what you found out about this fault with this TV set.

Thanks for your input, Larry.

Thanks for your input, Larry.  Yes.  I forgot to include the CF portion of the model number, and yes...that thing is an anvil!
