My Rear projection TV Sony KP 43175 displaying the redcolor on and off (but mostly off)
I have 5 blinks on the front display
It looks like a cold join to me. Any suggestions where to look and what to do?

Where are you located. The Sony model number does not ring any bells. Explain the problem a little more in detail please.
Larry, I think it should be KP-43T75 which is a valid model number. I think this is an RA3 or 4A chassis. Hope this helps. Dan
`Sorry about that is is indeed a 43T75 chassis RA3A
Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the "C" board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the "A" board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly. If you do not have any TV repair knowledge, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair.
Thx for the info
The problem is most likely on the CR board. so yesterday i looked for Cold join on it... there is none. Just in case i did redo the Q705, Q706 and Q704.
The red is coming on and off.
Something is weird, i testes the continuity on R703//R714 and it is open...
8.3k//8.3k supposed to be 4.15k...
What bothers me is if a transistor or Resistor is blowen, the problem will not be on/offf like this.
I am thinking of buying a new CR board. Any ides where i can order one in USA?
Is it worthing to do so?
i need a set of screens for my 43" sony kp-43t75....... any one can help... thank you
Sony KP-43T75 - No sound/no picture - just a steady( no blink ) timer/standby light. Might this be an easy/inexpensive fix? I am about to take this off life support. Thanks, Jeff
i have a 36hs20 that has this exact problem.
it turns on, the screen has very little red it in, looks like an old B&W movie.
then switches off with 5 red blinks.
sounds like a bad picture tube and not worth fixing!!
