My sister called me last night and it seems she was watching dvd and it froze well she took it out cleaned it put it back it and it said loading forever then gave an weird message she discribed as a bunch of 3's and 1's or L's then just sat there. So she put a disk in she knew worked and same thing. No for the weird part she has other players so she goes to them and tries them and same thing. The vcr would work on her combo but dvd did not.
I suggested she unplug them all and let them set for a few and then replug.
She unplugged and let them sit overnight and plugged them back up this am and nothing but now it says something about root.
Any ideas. I never heard of 3 going fubar at once. My husband said "It's a witch burn it!" and I'm beginning to wonder.

Without make and model numbers there is little we can do for you. It is not unusual for DVDs to fail in the manner you described. They tend to work well until they decide to retire... Please post additional info and we'll be able to help.
