thomson vh1 600b

hi all,can someone please help me with this,i have a thomson vh1 600b 99 channel converter box,ok 2 things one,when i change channels it makes a loud noise as if it hurts to change channels i've seen this before in other boxes and there was a way to adjust but not this on help please.ok 2:i want to play around with video in/out, ground ,v+ so that i could look @ the 1 chaanel left for non digi people,please help i dont want to just go in poking.tanks.
