To me, "line" would imply that it switched from DVD mode to looking at one of the video inputs on the player. Not sure why it would do this, but that's my first guess. What do you normally do to correct this? Are you able to flip back into DVD mode to play the disc?
Are these DVDs that are recorded, or commercially purchased discs? If recorded, were they recorded on this machine or a different recorder? There's got to be something in common about the discs that cause this, so let's see if we can figure out what it is.

It only seems to do it with some dvds, when it goes "line", it just wont play the dvd.

Thanks for that, luckily I found out it was still under warranty, so we have exchanged it.
