Being a retired servic tech I decided to repair my sony tv.I found a shorted HOT but I know this isn't the only problem or the only component that need to be replaced from my experience.Idon't have a service manual and I can;t find any B+ fuse. The only fuse I find is the AC line fuse.Iwas thinking of ordering a new D board but maybe some of my problems could be in the G board{power supply}.Thanks for the help,Tom
Some diodes do go bad on the G board. I have a copy of this service manual if you want it. I will need to send the manual with a proggy called Pando. if you do not have it as it will work with your email and allow you to send hugh files. I just use the free downloaded version. i will need your e mail addy. Use a light bulb across the main AC fuse so you can see if you have any more shorts in the set. Use about 100 to 150 watt light for this set. i use a three way bulb in a socket with pigtails and use the smaller wattage for VCRs and Hi-Fi equipment, the 100 watt part for smaller screen TV sets and the 150 watt for the projection TVs or large screen over 25". let us know how you make out with this repair.
Thanks for the offer for the manual. However I just downloaded one.I'll let you know how things work out.,Tom
