I was wondering if anyone can tell me why my Samsung projection tv is having a lot of wavy lines. I have tried everything with the focus but I can't seem to get it. I have only had the tv for three years. The warranty just ran out. I hope that this isn't too big of a problem. Help!!! thank you
peggymay, it sounds as though maybe there is a convergence problem. BUT, without any info on the set I cannot even begin to quess on what to tell you. I need some specifics. Like a model number to start please.
Hi. The model number is HCN4727W. It is a Samsung. I hope that this helps you!! thank you!
If you have the ability or can get some assistance, the part you need is the convergence board, part number BP95-00415B. You will also need the service manual to go into the service mode after the board is replaced to do a convergence alighnment. Like I stated before, you should only attempt this if you have the know how of working with solid state electronics and know how to read a service manual. A TV set is not the place to be experimenting around inside of. If you do not know how to do these things, at least you have the knowledge of this so you won't get ripped off by a repair person. The board cost about 90 bucks from Samsung so the servicer will add a bit on for profit and labor should be about 200 or so. Good Luck, and let us know how you made out with this repair.
I want to thank you for all of your help. The lines have been driving me crazy. Have a good day!!
Please let us know if you get this TV fixed and how it turns out.
