TV, cable box, A/V Receiver

I Just bought Bravia KDLS2010 and DAVDX375 A/V Receiver. Tried to hook it to a cable box, but no sound came out of the home entertainment speaker sets. The TV was set at "speaker off" and "variable". Both systems work fine by itself, but when connected to the cable, the sound was lost. help!..

Hi Smallucu,

Hi Smallucu,

I'm assuming you're plugging the audio and video from the cable box into the television, and have an audio cord going from the TV's AV out to the receiver.

If you're going directly from the cable box to the receiver, it won't matter what you set in the menu on the TV. However, if this is the case, you'll need to tell us whether or not you made an analog or digital audio connection.

Assuming the former:

1. Make sure you have the audio going OUT of the TV, and IN to the receiver.

2. Make sure the receiver is set to the correct input.

3. Set the TV audio settings to "speaker off" and "fixed" audio output. You want to control the volume with the receiver, not the TV.
