i just got my sony dvd recorder fixed (rdrgx315) but the said i'm not suppost to use 16x DVD's which i guess it says in the manuel 
. The problem is they dont sell 8x or lower (which is what i need). Why will useing a faster dvd burn speed make it go bad??? what happends????

DVD media is certified to be usable at the speed specified. If you have a recorder that only works at a lower speed, that is OK. You don't want to use 4x media at 16x speed.
