Samsung HCL4715W - No red's on 1080i Component input

Anyone know a solution to this strange problem?

I've had this TV for about 4 years now and just finally hooked up a HD signal to it. I am using Comcast HD receiver with thier cables and on the 1080i (Component 2) video inutt there is no red. Everything that is supposed to be red is coming thru either black or brown. The strange thing is that when there is a standard definition signal present, the colors are all fine. I can see that the red bulb is on and not burnt out, but it's just not producing red the way it should be with an HD signal.

I have tried changing the Comcast receiver and that didn't make a difference, Comcast tech came to my house and tested the HD signal as good. I hooked up the DVD played to the 1080i input while upconverting the DVD to 1080i and the colors still looked bad, eliminating the chance that my color problem is with Comcrap. I tried swapping the cables with a known good set of component video cables and that didn't make a difference. I tried taking the back panel off, pulling the jack circuit panel and re-plugging it in to make sure the connections were tight with no interference and that made no difference. I went to the different connecors in the TV making sure they were plugged in tight an dthey were. I tried manually adjusting the colors/convergence and buld brightness within the TV and no change...

Any suggestions or known fixes. Could it be a bad red RCA connector?

Thanks all in advance for your help!
