Model VS-5074. There are many conflicts between the dynamic convergence control functions as detailed in the Service Manual versus the functions as pictorially detailed on a label stuck to the back of the Speaker Panel.
Removing the speaker panel allows ready access to the PCB Convergence module. The label, on the back of the Speaker Panel has a pictorial display of all dynamic convergence controls with small graphical drawing depicting the respective convergence function of all 36 controls.
Which of these two functional descriptions is most likely to be correct ---- the one in the Service Manual or the information on the Label?

Try each on separatly after you mark the controls and then see if you get the desired results. If not try the other way in the service manual does that give you the right results. If the coinvergence is drasticly off, most likely you have a convergence IC falure. I see folks all the time trying to adjust the convergence, as the convergence jumped out of alighnment. These alighnments will not correct large errors in the convergence. Those can only be done with the on -screen type alighnment throgh a service menu, if the set has one. The alighments on a Projection TV set is only for wear and tear and with the age of the set,convergence will drift and need touching up. If the convergence all of a sudden jumps out od alighnment, the adjusts are not going to help you my friend. Replace the convergence IC's first. Good Luck, I hope this answers you question.

The set needs only minor touch up of the convergence settings, using an external cross hatch test pattern. I have made separate drawings showing the individual control functions as detailed in both the SM and on the Label. I will carefully follow your suggestion to see which one represents the correct info for this specific chassis.
FYI, my recent posting about a vertical jitter with this set was traced to a intermittent pressure contact to the PSB Main ground plane by a heat sink, on which was mounted the vertical output IC. This problem has now been solved and I just want to do some minor touch up of the convergence settings.
