Do you know what the problem is with my TV? I was watching it, all was good, then a few fine red lines with words went across the screen at an angle, then the picture went black and it started making a squeeking noise from within the TV...I don't think it's a mouse! lol. Turning it off and on does not help and nothing will appear on the screen, i.e. menu, channel number, or volume. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The fact that the set is making a high pitched noise is an indication of the switch mode power supply is probably being loaded down. It could be a shorted Horizontal output transistor, a bad sweep power supply or something is shorted on the B+ power supply secondary. It could be almost anything from a bad capacitor, a shorted zener diode or a b+ diode,A bad or leaky regulator device. This is a hard call without looking at the set and should not be attempted by the end user. There is too much High Voltage inside this TV set to be experimenting around inside of. Wish I had better news for you. My best advice, would be to call in a local service depot to assist you with this repair. Good Luck and let us know howm you made out .
Thanks for the reply... TV repair guy came today and took out the main board. Said something was bad in it...I don't remember what he said it was but he is going to go through the board and make all nec. repairs.
