I have a KP-46WT500 that is about 4 years old and all off a sudden I'm getting some green looking lights on the tv and it shuts off flashig the self-diagnosis light eight times. According to the Sony tv blinking conde, this is a problem with the audio, unit goes into standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code - check IC406 audio amp, PS401 and 402. Is this something I can fix myself? If so, how? any info would be helpful.
Thanks
If you know how to read a schematic and to solder and work on solid state printed circuit boards, sure you should have no problem. If you do not, I would have to advise you to keep the back on the set and call out a pro to assist you as there are no user replaceable parts inside these TV sets, and trying or experiementing to fix a TV is dangerous. Good Luck and let us know how you make out with this set.
I have a KP51WS510, blinking 8 times. I have replaced ic406, no fix., now I am looking for ps401 and 402. I see ps701 & 702, but can't locate 401 & 402. Where are they located? no one mentioned anything about 701 & 702. Thanks for your help. James
