I recently moved into an apt complex that rents out to students (as I am a student). They pay for cable in only one room ... the living room. The cable is controlled by a cable box. I have tried various ways using splitters to run the cable into one of the bedrooms. One hookup gave my tv only the standard tv channels (The news channels, etc) but absolutely no cable channels. Another hookup allowed me to watch ONLY what was being watched on the main tv. I'm sure it is "unethical" to connect tvs this way, as the cable company wants to come out and charge you an arm and a leg to restore the cable in the bedroom. (There is a hookup in the bedroom, it's just not active.) I am a student and will only be here for a very short time. I am hoping someone can help me on how to hook this up for CHEAP.
(I am not very electronic saavy, so simple plain english explanations would be appreciated!
