That blank photo is a default that stays there if you do not submit a photo. To change the photo or add on go to your account above, edit the profile and then add an image.

You certainly don't have to add one if you don't want to, but we encourage you add something to better personalize your experience on the site. If you choose not to, it's okay. Only you see the silhouette image on your posts when you are logged in; others in the community will only see your display name. In fact, if you log out and return to this forum thread, you'll see that the "add a photo" image next to your post has disappeared.
