Rear projection TV screen

My friend has a older RCA projection Tv.  The issue is, I cracked the screen with a run away Nintendo Wii controller (the safety strap broke!).  It still has a picture, it just needs a new screen to project onto.  Does anyone know what types of materials were used for screens around that time.  It is a white semi transperent plastic with ribbing to reduce glare.  If I get a model number, do you think I could be able to buy the material at a plastic distributer?  Or does anyone have a similar sounding tv that knows the material I should ask for?
