hi i got an older hitachi model 53sdx89b.it has only 1 cmponent input on back for hi-def.every since i been getting hi-def programs to watch i get a random/periodic blackouts, from both my hd-tivo and ps3.is my tv dying or is just wanting to get repaired,or could it be since my tv only has component input?

Sorry Bearzilla, It seems you have a problem with your TV set if the blackouts happen on all inputs and on the cable or anrenna inputs as well. I have seen these sets black out but the sound stays. Is this what is happening?
well i dont get black outs on other inputs(just my 1 component input),its very wierd most HD-movies via D* satellite(the football package that i got never ever blacked out,just movies) and some times my ps3 during games.
I am beginning to think the copyright protection from HD-movies might be why this is happening since my tv is from 1999 and only uses video component?any thoughts?
