No Power

I have a RCA mini dv camcorder, and when I plug it in there is no power.   I don't know what happened to it, and it has been sitting for about a year now.  The camera at the time was basically new and I wonder if someone can give me some ideas as to what is wrong with it.

I hooked it to my computer after allowing my son to use it at school to record a demo in his music class.  I is a very good camera and I just hate to throw it away.  It was worth over $400.00 and I'd like to get it fixed if possible.  If anyone has any information please help.

Thank you

Oh heck almost anything could

Oh heck almost anything could have happened to this little camcorder.  Sometimes the problem is that the battery is no good and won't charge up, so attach the unit to the AC adaptor and try it.  If that does not work, there is a problem inside with a DC to DC converter or a power supply issue inside the camcoder.  These are not easy things to disassemble and to reassemble.  Only trained techs who work on camcorders should ever take one apart and attempt repairing these.  There are special tools and test cable setups you need on these puppys.  I have sent several peeps to these sites that only fix camcorders and they will give you a free estimate too.  I know two people who have had their camcorders repaired also.  They also will buy broken camcorders sometimes.  The are at the following URLs: http://www.videoonerepair.com/  Or  http://www.videotech.com/
http://www.camcorderrepair.com/  Good Luck, and let us know how you made out.
