Upper left 1'3 of the picture is blurred, red will not adjust in digital array.Also the red is bowed in at top .The rest of the picture is ok.Any suggestion? And any idea on cost of getting it fixed.
Im sure the convergence ICs are bad in this set. First use the original replacement IC;s that Hitachi recomends you use in the set, Also you must install lots of heat sink compound to the backs of the Ic's before installing the new ones? If you do not you will be replacing them again in the future. Always best to use OEM parts and I've been using Hitachi CZ0043's for all my 110 replacements, and haven't had any complaints yet. There is also an STK 392-180 which I understand runs even cooler than the 150. I do not have any experience on this one so I can't comment. I have looked for the OEM version and I believe Sony makes them but they are quite expensive. For the time being I am sticking with the STK 392-150's. Do remember to check the one watt return resistors and replace them as necessary. Good Luck, and if you have no solid state repair experience, please call in a pro to assist you. Larry, Thanks. I ordered the manual and parts and got the ic's installed yesterday.That solved the problem.Also cleaned the mirror,and inside of screen while I had everything apart.Good as new.
