My toddler was playing with the dvd&tv and possibly the remote controls and now I cannot view dvds. The dvd will play correctly in the player but the picture is not appearing on the screen. I have been flickering through the channels and can hear the sound from the dvd on the SVHS & AV2 channels but can't seem to figure out which channel shows the picture. Does it make a difference if the channell is on MONO or AV? Thank you.
This is going to take a few more questions to sort this one out. How did you play a DVD in the past? Is the DVD player hooked through a Video input on the TV set? What type of DVD and TV set do you have?
Thank you for your reply.
I have realised that there is a lose connection with one of the wires (there is a little screw that keeps loosening at the back of the dvd player) Sometimes the dvd works and sometimes it doesn't! Thank you for your help anyway, may have to get a new player
JN:
There is no need for a new player. If there is a loose connection at the wires, then the RCA jack probably is loose internally. This is a simple fix if you know how to solder. These jacks take a bit of abuse from the weight of the cable hanging from them. Sometimes they just get loose. If this is the only problem with the unit, perhaps a local shop would repair the connection for you cheaply. I know that this type of repair would cost about $20 from me!!
Good luck,
Dan
