I have a sony trinitron for which I do not have the original remote
control. I just got a dvr box. Now when I turn on the tv
the video source one screen, the dvd screen appears in a little box on
the lower right hand side of the tv scrren. I cannot remove
it. Any help is greatly appreciated

Oh I see what happened here. When someone did have the original remote, they used the video input as the PIP source. Is there another video input you can use? Can you use the RF or tuner input/ The only way to turn off the PIP my freind is with an original replaxcement Sony remote. Does any of your freinds or neighbor's have a Sony TV with PIP that you can borrow and turn off the PIP? Good Luck, and let us know how you made out.
