I have started to experiance a degradation in sound quality when recording tv programs on my philips tv/vcr combi. Although the sound is there, is is very low and not very reactive when raising the sound level. Very muted!
Any ideas please.

You should first get a good wet type of a head cleaner. Maybe the ACE(Audio Control Erase) head is dirty.
