I hope yu can help--I believe the tv is 6 years old--Thank You
Is this part of the tuner or a small box? If its a small box, yes its available by itself and is called an antenna block. if its part of the chassis on the TV set, you will need to know how to solder, not just a little but be an expert at it, or you will cause lots of damage to the On board tuner. If you do not have the soldering ability, please seek out a pro to assit you as it really should not cost that much to get it done without causing any damage to the set. Good Luck and please keep us informed of your progress with this repair.
You need to get this set to a service person. That particular chassis is configured with both the hot and cold grounds directly next to each other at the RF input. There is a plastic piece that has to be inserted correctly to avoid the two making contact. If those touch, a rather meaningful explosion will take place that will pretty much fry the set. Don't try and do this yourself.
Not sure what you mean by part of the tuner or a small box??? there is a piece that sticks out of the bottom of the back of the tv--lookslike a thick screw with a small hole in center--I screw in the cable to that piece--tv is cable ready that piece????
I do not see a plastic piece that you are talking about but i will not go into back again-
thanks to both answers not really sure yet//
