i have a 60 inch rca ProScan t.v. that randomly turned off and now it won't turn back on...how do i fix it??? please help, i've only had it for two weeks and i bought it off of my friend's dad! i don't want it to stop working now!

These sets are famous for L401 to need to be taken out of the circuit, the leads scrapped off and then the coil has to be resoldered back to the printed circuit board. This coil is located between the horizontal driver transformer secondary and the Base of the horizontal output transistor. It CANNOT be only resoldered, as that may help for a bit, but will go bad again. Sometimes this will fix the set, sometimes not, as it will also randomly short out the horizontal output transistor. Also this set can have alot of poor solder connections around the flyback transformer and in the main power supply. This set is also very famour for the flyback transformer to go bad and take out the transistor also. Without checking the circuits, its a shot in the dark. If you have no electronic or TV repair experience, Please stay safe and call in a pro to look at this for you. There is alot of high voltage inside this set even when its unplugged.
