TV Won't Power On

My TV won't power on either with the remote or with the manual power on. I hear a clicking noise and it appears that the TV is turning on and off. After several times it stops. Never actually see a picture.  The TV is a 27" ProScan.

My 53" flatscreen pro scan T.V. came on yesterday and then the picture flickered and since that time I cannot power it on. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

mppuzz, what I think your

mppuzz, what I think your problem is would be called a bad flyback transformer and or the horizontal output transistor is shorted because of it. In some cases with this set though, there is a small coil called L401, it connects the horizontal driver transformer secondary output to the Base of the horizontal output transistor. This coil needs to be taken out, the leads need to have the ends scrapped off of enamal, and then reinserted and resoldered. DO NOT just resolder this coil, as it may help for a while, but will make the set blow the horizontal output transistor again or will simply not let the set start up. This si not a repair anyone can do, as you will need soldering skills and the know how to work on solid state printed circuit boards. Also please be aware of the high voltage in this area of the TV set. Better to play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair. Good Luck, and please keep us informed about the repair progress of this TV set.
