Mitsubishi VS-5017S projection TV no picture, a blue line on the middle

I have a Mitsubishim VS-5017S projection TV, made in 1992, now when power on, there is no picture but sound O.K. Once I pressed "Menu" button on the remot control or "test" button on the front panel, a curved blue horizontal line appeared on the middle of the screen, and this line won't goes away then. And each time press the "menu" button, the blue line will sway a little bit.
Need expert or any one who familiar with this symptom to give me suggestion about which part failed probably, I'm tring to fix it by myself.
Many thanks for the help!

The fact that you get a small
The fact that you get a small line, is an indication, that you lost vertical sweep on this set. The reason Im thinking this is that when you lose vertical sweep, a protection circuit kicks in and shuts down the video, as so the set will not distroy the picture tubes and burn a line across them. If you have some solid state soldering erxperience, try first to resolder the vertical output IC. Most likly the IC along with the B+ feed resistor back in the sweep power supply is bad. A repair such as this, if you find a decent shop, will be about $200.00 to $250.00 plus Pick-up and delivery. Good Luck and please DO keep us informed of your progress with the repair of this set.
