I'm trying to watch my dvd player on my symphonic 27" tv and I can't get a picture to show me the movie. I have the tv on channel three and I have even tried channel four. I have the red, white and yellow coaxles cables hooked connected and I'm not getting anywhere. I don't have the orginal remote to this tv, I went and buoght a univeral remote and I'm just not getting anywhere. Help anyone.

If the player is connected to one of the line level inputs, you won't be able to watch the DVD player on any of the tuner channels. You'll need to switch the TV input to the live level connection.
Not having the original remote certainly does make this harder. I know you didn't provide the model number to the TV you have, but looking at a few different manuals on the Symphonic website, it would appear some of their sets have a TV/VCR button on the front. This probably changes the input. Does yours have this?
If no, which model TV do you have?
