herby stew, what do you mean by O/P and phono outputs? Do you mean output and RCA type outputs? And please explain sync with the sound? Maybe we use differant tech terms?
hi larry,by sync I mean that the sound obtained via my sony surround system does not synchronise with the lip movements shown on the bush tv, I find that this only happens when the tv is operating in its digital mode. The 2phono outputs are referred to as audio line outputs. By o/p is shorthand for output. Hope this answers your question await your reply. stew
Page 9 of the Surround sound is the typical hook up. Did you say there was no video input jack thats an RCA type? If you do not there is an inexpensive way to do this. It available at http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Hi-Fi&TVacces... Click on the first one on the upper left hand corner as I think thats the one you want. Also then you can connect up the equipment just like it explains on page 9 of your surround sound user manual. If you dont have one for your Sony get one here http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/mode... Good Luck and please let us know how you made out.
hi again Larry I should have mentioned I had tried using scart to rca adaptor to connect to my sourround sound and found that the sound produced was associated with tv analog signal channels and not the digital channels. I have just discovered that the sound output from the 2 audio RCA output jacks is also only associated with the analogue channels hence there appears to be no audio output available for the digital channels my previouse observations were obtained when I was viewing the same channel no for digital and analogue. I shall have to look again at configuration for sound on this tv but not too hopeful. if I find out more will let you know. Sorry this is so long but I want to give all the facts. Stewart
Hi matt Thank you for your information regarding forum proceedure,it is all very clear now. Stew
You could look into an input adaptor for the scarts and an optical or digital output to go to the stereo
Thanks to every one for there help, I have now got the answer from Bush help line. I had to get into the menu for aux connections, change sound from tv to dti. It worked as I can now get the digital sound output from the tv through my surrend sound system. Stewart
