hi there i took my lcd tv to a repair shop they said it was one of two things.
one was the inverta and would cost £265 to replace.
the other was the panel and that would cost£935 to replace.
is that sort of price right or are they trying to rip me off .
the tv is 2 and a half years old and made by phillips.
cheers for any replys david
Can't help you unless you convert into US dollars.
MotvGuy and drakeman1970, easy answer to this. To every UK pound it transfers to 1.89359 US dollar. Thats alot of bucks in any country. I would see if anyone was less expensive. If you need an easy transfer rate, from any rate to any rate, it does it for you, go here.
that converts to $502 for the inverta.
and $1777 for the panel
now thats an awful lot of money
That's too much for the inverter replacement but probably close on the LCD panel. Philips panels are way too high IMO. You didn't say what size it was.
Thats what I was saying dudes! But this is what alot of servicers as well as factory servicers are charging as I understand these days for these repairs. or around these prices. This is why I recommend, at least buying a 5 year extended warranty on these items. Now me being in the biz, I dont normally say to buy an extended warranty, But now I think I would, as to hearing all of the storys on LCD and plasma screen problems
its a 30in tv but cant remember the model number right now
