When i switch my handycam on with the shutter open the screen and the view finder come up black you can't see anything when you look at either. If you try recording it records sound but no picture. The play back of previously recorded footage plays back normally. Any ideas
Sounds like its a problem with the CCD sensor element inside the camcorder. Sony has a recall on this model, along with many others because of this .. Go Here, and read about it. Scroll down the page and click the camcorder button, and then click the DCR-HC and there is your model number!. Contact an authorized Sony servicer ASAP!, as I heard they were only doing this recall for a certain amount of time? Im really not sure. Please keep us informed here as to your progress. Good Luck
