Panasonic Palmcorder VHS-C, Problem

We have a palmcorder  VHS-C - Model PVL-352D recently my husband said the battery was bad, So I ordered a new one and paid $77.50 after shipping and handling. Now we are having another problem after charging the new battery- the recorder still does not want to stay on - the icon shows a full charged battery on the screen but it shuts off  within a minute or so. Ex: We had it on VCR mode- checking to see what was on them and it kept stopping . I also think it may need cleaned. Any advice?

thanks

So even in the VCR mode it

So even in the VCR mode it keeps shutting off even though the screen shows a full charge on the battery?  Is this correct? Is there any small clock batterys in this camcorder.  If there is , take them out along with the main battery for 24 hours.  reinstall and do a complete reinstall such as the date , time, ect, that is if the camcorder stays on.   If it does not stay on, then i would have to guess that there is a mechanical problem with the unit, and it takes alot these days to repair these camcorders.  most of the time, because mof the cost involved, these camcorders are nort worth the repair price, but thats totally up to you.  Here are a few of the reliable on-line repair peeps that I know of for camcorders, as these thigs are as well becomming a throw away item.  http://www.videoonerepair.com/  Or  http://www.videotech.com/
