I have a 52" JVC HD-ILA and have encountered a problem where the TV turns on and everything is perfect for the first 2 to 3 minutes, then the audio goes off, with the picture remaining fine. I unplugged and re-plugged all audio (and video) plugs in the back, but the problem remains. If I turn the TV off and turn it back on, the audio works again for the first couple of minutes. I imagine there is an solution that hopefully won''t involve the $100 to get the technician to my house.
We are having a similar problem with a Sony. The sound will be good and suddenly gets "fuzzy". It will stay that way for a while and then come back to normal. We have checked all the connections and had our cable service out to see if it was in the lines. This is a 13 year old Sony Trinitron. Any thoughts?
TJ77, have you went to the audio menu and made sure you were in the normal audio mode and not the SAP(second audio program)yet? If the set is in this mode your problem does happen sometimes. if its not in the SAP mode then you have an audio processor problem or the power supply that feeds the audio amp. circuit. These are solid state sets and have no real user replaceable parts and should only be serviced by a trained tech. Good Luck, and please let us know how you got your set working or what it took to get it working again.
Sasha, your Sony most likly has a small audio processor module that goes bad alot in these older sonys. Its still around by an after market brand but the cost to replace it will most likly exceed on whats the sets worth as after all it is a 13 year old set and anytime you start to work on an older set other things start to pop up. My advise would be go out and buy a new set, unless you really like this set . Its going to most likely be in the $125.00 to $150.00 range to repair this set.
