No Sound On My DVD Player

I have a Malata DVP 500P dvd player which has served me well for the past 2 years but all of a sudden lately it gives no sound. All of the cables are connected properly but in the setup menu under audio setup there is an icon which I don't think was there before. It is next to lpcm output. It has a horizontal line and 6 vertical lines going up from it inside of a red circle. There are two settings....lpcm 48k and lpcm 96k. I have tried both but to no avail. Do you have any suggestions as to what to do. Is there any way to reset the player.Thankyou
