The DVD player would not open on our sylvania tv/dvd/vcr combo so we took apart the tv to try and fix it. We fixed the DVD problem, but after reconnecting the wires, we now get sound, but no picture. We don't know anything about the insides of tv's, but if you could tell us what wires to check or any advice as to why this may be happening, it would help.
your going to have to open up the back of the set with the set unplugged of course. Track every single wire and group of wires on both ends and make sure you did not pull out any plugs or halfway pull them out,on the player as well as on the TV set chassis. We checked all the connections and it seems nothing was pulled out. Is there any particular cord or wire which controls only the picture? The sound works fine. There are two thick striped grey cords with tiny curved wires at the end (one has 7, the other 13)...what are they called? If those small wires were bent or damaged would that prevent a picture from coming up on the screen? Thanks.
