Hello to all,
I have a 27" Toshiba TV and yesterday, I noticed that while watching the football game on TV, I could only hear the background noises and not the announcers. I verified that I have a problem by checking another TV and could hear the announcers on that TV. Is this something I can fix myself or is it time to try to convince the wife for a bigger, I mean, newer TV?

Check the sound menu on the set. It might be in expanded stereo mode or maybe in the sap mode. In the expanded mode it will make the background sound blend all together with the both channels. Switch it to normal streo or Mono. Good Luck, and please let us know how you made out.
