After this 20 min it stays on as normal.
would appreciate any help.

Ok Im sorry but I do not understand the problem. What is connected to this set, and when you say you switch it to EXT 1, No picture, what is connected to EXT1? Does anything come through EXT1. After is warms up? I dont get what your trying to say.. Please let me know what it is your trying to do or whats suppose to work and does not work.
Thanks Larry
The scart socket is connected to a free view box and then to the television.
when i first switch the tv on a blank screen appears in one corner of the screen the initials AV are shown.
Then i have to press the + channel button once, the screen (still blank) changes to initials EXT1.
Then finally i press the + channel button once more .the picture now appears with EXT2 on the screen.
There are two scart sockets in the rear of the TV(EXT1 andEXT2) i have my scart socket inserted in
EXT2 socket.
After about 1minute the tv goes off, ithen have to repeat this action 3 or 4 times on the odd occasion
the TV will remain on all day but this is very rare.
There is nothing else attached to my TV. This also happens when the TV has nothing attached to it at all
I wonder if it is anything to do with the standby system as this red light is still showing when the TV geos off.
Thankyou for your interest and for trying to help me.

Oh! OK. It seems you do have a power supply problem, as it does reset to ext 1 after it is already set to ext 2. Sorry to say, but if this TV set is over a few years old, most likly it will cost you more or about as much as it would for a brand new one, to have this set fixed. These sets are common to have power supply problems, or cpld solder connections in the bhorizontal start up circuits. If you do want to try and see what it is going to cost, please let us know what the repair person tells you. Good luck
