Disconnecting Internet

I have an unreliable internet. I have dsl from verizon and i get
disconnected due to bad weather or someone calling the house. Whenever
it rains, a big gust of wind, or whenever someone calls the house, the
internet disconnects and reconnects after a couple seconds. Its getting
really annoying and i havent been able to do anything this past weekend
because of the wind. Previously I had cable, and that too kept
disconnecting, its really bothersome. Ive read somewhere that the
problem is my phone line cable outside, or something. Can anyone
elaborate to this, or possibly have a solution?
