I have inherited an old colour tv in very good working condition but I have no instruction manual.
I don't know how to tune it.
There appears to be no 'tuning door' on the set that I can open.
Help would be appreciated.

Laurie, if there is not a button on the front that says menu, then your going to need to get the original remote so you can access the tunning menu. This set is a UK model correct? This link is where you can purchace a remote that will let you tune and access the menu funtions. http://www.remotecontrols.co.uk/client/RESULT.ASP?strModel=CPT2154&strBrand=HITACHI&nBrand_ID=95&strType=Remote+Control&nType_ID=1 if it does have a menu funtion simply press it and uses the volume and or channels buttons to navigate around. Im still trying to find you an owners manual and will keep you posted. Good Luck and let us know if you find one and if you figured out the menu funtions.

I suspect it is a UK /AUSTRALIAN model as I'm in Melbourne Australia.
It does have a remote that works, which is good. But I can't work out how to use it to tune (and I used to build pc's; was a computer programmer, and, my friends still ring me up to find out how to program their dvd's, vcr's etc) AND I STILL CAN'T DO IT!! I must be getting old!
