hello to all
i have a ge 27 inch monitor xs stereo
while i was watching tv the power went out for about 20 minutes
when the power was restored the tv did not restart and does not start with the remote control or by using the on /off switch
my question is
i have heard that some tv's have safety resets inside
my tv is model #27GT613B does this model have that kind of reset
if not what are the possible problems and the cost related to the problems.
thank you in advance for your help in this matter
Your problem could be as easy as a blown internal fuse, or a major power supply repair. It is a hard call without really opening up a set and testing the sweep supply and the main power supply sections of these sets. to answer your question. No Im afraid there is no internal reset for this TV set. It really will depend on how much you like the set, how old the set is, and of course how much your willing to spend on the set. If the set is over 5 or more years I think it most likly would not be worth the cost to repair versus the cost of a new set. but if it is only a fuse, maybe it will only cost you 35 to 50 bucks? If you have had no type of solid state or tV repair experience, Please seek out a trained tech to assist you in this repair, as it is very dangerous to be experimenting around the inside of a TV set. Good Luck, and please let us know how you made out as it may assist someone else.
